THE CHANEN STORY
Chanen Construction was founded in 1955 in Phoenix, Arizona—when the population was a whopping 65,414. Now, 69 years and 1 million more people later, Chanen remains one of the original Arizona builders with a reputation for ambitious projects and investing in the community.
A lot has changed over the years, but our community focus remains. Chanen has supported more than 1,000 non profits and has given more than $3M to causes we care about. In addition, we offer a Chanen Student Scholarship program at Midwestern University—supporting our goal to improve access to higher education and empower minority communities.
Seven decades in and we are now approaching a new era of growth. In 2023, Chanen was acquired by Dick Anderson Construction, a Montana-based company that shares our same core values of working hard, supporting our communities, and “being part of the solution.”
THE DAC STORY
Founded in 1975, Dick Anderson Construction has grown to become one of the most respected general contractor/construction management firms in the region. For five decades, we’ve built strong relationships with clients in Montana, Wyoming, Arizona, and across the Northwest. Now, we’re proud to expand south with the acquisition of Chanen Construction.
Like Chanen, DAC is a homegrown business with a humble beginning; we started as a roofing company committed to providing the highest quality work. We delivered on that promise again and again, growing from one office to now having offices in Helena, Billings, Bozeman, Great Falls, and Missoula, Montana; Sheridan and Jackson, Wyoming; and Phoenix, Arizona, where our employees live and enjoy the quality of life that each community provides.
We excel in all aspects of contracting and construction management, with a range of project types — from large-scale renewable energy facilities to higher education to heavy civil.

Steady Growth, A Future focus
DAC is ready to build on Chanen’s seven-decade foundation of trust and history in the West and Midwest. With DAC’s acquisition of Chanen, we bring expanded capabilities and experience in areas like heavy civil, power/energy, luxury residential, and commercial. As DAC approaches our 50th anniversary and Chanen celebrates 70 years of work, the future is bright—a growing team, growing capabilities, and a bright future ahead.
We’re beyond proud of the work we do, and we look forward to many more years of building excellence.
